The Miracle Theater’s Blessing Box Program Provides Free Show Tickets to Local Families in Need
Pigeon Forge, Tenn., 2009 Season– One local theater is giving a helping hand to local families in need. The Miracle Theater in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. has launched a Blessing Box program that enables any one the opportunity to provide a fun and inspirational night at the theater for local families who otherwise could not afford the opportunity.
You can participate by purchasing a half-price ticket to “The Miracle” production for just $20, including tax, and donating it back to the Blessing Box program. The ticket will be donated to the Blessings Box program which allows local families in need the opportunity to see the show for free. In addition, The Miracle Theater will match every ticket purchased for the Blessing Box with another free ticket. With the purchase of five tickets for the Blessing Box (a $100 donation) from a single donor, the theater will double their ticket match, actually turning five free tickets into 15 free tickets.
To contribute to the Blessing Box program, call The Miracle Theater box office at (865) 428-SHOW (7469). Tickets may also be purchased in person at the theater box office, located at 2046 Parkway (at traffic light No. 0) in Pigeon Forge, Tenn.
Currently, the theater gives the Blessing Box tickets collected during the week to the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Smoky Mountains, which distributes the tickets to needy families in the five Sevier County branch clubs in Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Sevierville, Kodak and Seymour.
The Boys and Girls Club of the Smoky Mountains enrolls an estimated 1,600 children in their programs annually. Fifty percent of the children come from single parent households bringing in an annual income of $17,000 or less. In addition, two out of three children are on the reduced lunch program at their school and their families’ household income is $22,000 or less per year.
After all needy families in the Boys and Girls Club of the Smoky Mountains have received free show tickets, The Miracle Theater will donate the Blessing Box tickets to the Boys and Girls Club of the Tennessee Valley (Knoxville area), followed by The Lord’s Child program with The Gathering Church of Sevier County. The Blessing Box program is a long-term charity initiative of The Miracle Theater and will continue through December 2009.
“The Miracle” is a multi-million dollar, original, faith-based Broadway-style musical based on the life and miracles of Jesus Christ. Now in its fourth season, the theater has been open since the spring of 2006.
