Michael Chambliss is the lead singer of the five-person cast comprised of Michael Frost, Jen Gilbert Frost, Josh Anders, and Rebecca Peak. Both Frost, Gilbert Frost and Anders are cast members in the current Miracle production at the Miracle Theater. Tim Norris, who used to tour with the Imperials did the musical arrangements.
Russ Hollingsworth is the creator and director of the show. He is the former general manager of the Miracle Theater. He has over 20 years of experience in the Christian music industry both as a contemporary Christian recording artist and songwriter based out of Nashville. He has been a writer and artist with Word Records, and has penned songs for the likes of Debbie Boone, Denice Williams, Steve Camp, Wayne Watson and others. He recorded five albums and toured nationally for 10 years. After leaving the road, Hollingsworth produced records and live events and founded a training center for Christian singers and songwriters in Nashville. He was also the production director for Ben Hur: The Musical, which opened in Orlando, Fla., in 2000. In addition to his responsibilities with Exalt, Hollingsworth is active in music at Evergreen PCA Church in Sevierville, Tenn.
Hollingsworth said, “We put together a show that church people and fans of Christian music love. This show has a high entertainment value for a night out with the family. The show includes music that many people know from worshipping on Sunday, as well as well-known Christian music favorites that they play on their Ipods. The show has something for everyone. Exalt is written to entertain and inspire people of faith who love Christian Music.” He compares the show to a Christian concert.
“We have five singers and a live band,” Hollingsworth said. “This high-energy show is concert-oriented with a big dash of theater. We have real powerful music to give God a chance to work in people’s lives.”
He feels people appreciate the chance to be entertained and the chance to worship. “All through the show there is great worship,” Hollingsworth said. “People can stand up and sing with us. We are not praying and preaching. This is all music and performance.”
“We hope to give families who are in town on Sunday and not able to attend their home church, the chance to attend a show that allows them to worship and be entertained,” Hollingsworth said. “These people are already buying Christian CD’s. These are people who are part of churches and who will enjoy experiencing the Christian music. This is a different kind of show and it is fun.”
As the song says, ‘Our God is an Awesome God’.” Hollingsworth said. “We rock the house! People feel like they are in a concert, but we do not blow them out. It is not too loud for the older adults.”
Hollingsworth said, “It has been a real joy working with these amazing young performers. They are so talented and truly love Jesus! I appreciate David Fee and Jim Hedrick (the theater owners) giving me the opportunity to produce Exalt Christian Concert in the Miracle Theater.“
My entire life has been spent sharing the Gospel through music and the arts,” Hollingsworth said. I want to see God touch people’s lives through our production and that is why we’re here.”
The Miracle Theater is focused on one thing,” Hollingsworth said. “Every person who works here in both shows wants to see tens of thousands of people encouraged in their faith or to come to know Christ personally. It is our mission.”
The Miracle Theater is a ministry with a mission to present faith-based family entertainment through live theatrical productions revealing the person of Jesus Christ as The Living Word of God.
