Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat Coming to Miracle Theater Next Year
Pigeon Forge, Tenn., August 3, 2009 – A new production of the hit Broadway and London musical “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” will open at the Miracle Theater in Pigeon Forge, Tenn., in February of 2010. With lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, the Fee/Hedrick Family Entertainment Group will produce a new staging of this well-known musical that tells about dreams, family and reconciliation.
“Joseph” is the colorful retelling of the biblical story of Joseph. The story revolves around Joseph and his dreams, his ability to interpret his own dreams and the dreams of others, and family rivalry. The coat of many colors sings out to young and old alike with a score of wall-to-wall musical hits including “Close Every Door” and “Any Dream Will Do.”
The new production of “Joseph” will be the featured evening show at the Miracle Theater while the current “Miracle” and “Exalt Christian Concert” shows will continue at the theater in other time slots. “We are thrilled to be bringing ‘Joseph’ to the Miracle Theater,“ said theater general manager Robert Kalina. “Joseph will be completely different from our other shows at the Miracle Theater. Joseph is whimsical, fun, upbeat and comical.”
The Mission of the Miracle Theater is to present faith-based family entertainment through live theatrical productions revealing the person of Jesus Christ as the Living Word of God. The Miracle Theater is locally owned and operated by David Fee and Jim Hedrick. The theater is part of the Fee/Hedrick Family Entertainment Group.
